Magenta and IQ Honoured at Classic Rock Society Best Of The Year Awards!
Magenta's Christina Booth was presented with a Classic Rock Society Best Of The Year Award for Best Female Vocalist of 2004. Christina joins Musical Discoveries featured artists Rachel Jones (Karnataka) who won four consecutive awards from 2000 to 2003, Heather Findlay (Mostly Autumn) who won in 1999, Tracy Hitchings (Strangers on a Train, Landmarq) who won in 1995 and 1998 and Joanne Hogg (Iona) who won three awards in 1994, 1996 and 1997. Magenta was also presented with a BOTY for Best CRS Gig of 2004. A new double live album and new EP are due from Magenta in early December.IQ's founder Martin Orford was presented with a BOTY for Best Keyboard Player of 2004. The band's Bass player John Jowitt won his ninth CRS BOTY award for Best Bass player having achieved the award consecutively between 1993 and 1998 again between 2002 and 2004. IQ also took BOTY honours for their best new album Dark Matter and best song "Harvest of Souls." IQ has released a special edition live DVD in time for the holiday season.
